Letter from our President

The AAOA was founded as an Arkansas Nonprofit Corporation in 1985 "to serve the interests of the owners and operators of all airports in the State of Arkansas." Our purpose is to provide a network for the exchange of information and the transfer of experience gained among the members to help in the operation and management of airports. We promote the value of aviation and airports to the community, provide a unified voice in support of airports to the State Legislature and the Congress of the United States, promote aviation safety, and provide scholarships for students pursuing a career in aviation.
Each fall we host a conference to help us achieve our stated purpose. Our conferences are well attended by airport managers, airport commission/board members, elected officials, aviation consultants and vendors, the FAA and aviation enthusiasts. From our feedback, all are well pleased with what they take from the conferences. If you have not attended an AAOA conference, I encourage you to give us a try.
We keep our dues and conference fees very affordable so that all can participate. Other benefits include an informational email listing that we use to disperse important information to the membership. We maintain a very close working relationship with the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics staff to our mutual benefit. We recently initiated, with the help of Aeronautics Commission funding, a statewide Disaster Communications Network where airports strategically located in the State were equipped with AWIN capable radios on the dedicated Airports frequency. We backed up AWIN with HF sites. Using the network in disaster recovery will expedite response throughout the State.
AAOA is a proactive organization that supports all Arkansas airports. If you are not a member, I encourage you to click on “membership” and follow the steps to join up. You’ll be glad you did!
Best Regards,
