Arkansas’s airport system consists of 90 airports, including eight commercial service airports and 82 general aviation airports. In 2016, these public-use facilities supported nearly 3,000 based aircraft statewide and handled close to 1.7 million annual aircraft operations.

The state’s commercial airports provide essential connections for residents and visitors, linking Arkansas to destinations across the nation and around the world. In 2016, they served approximately 1.8 million passenger enplanements. All 90 airports in the Arkansas system are publicly owned or sponsored and are open to the public. However, only airports included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) qualify for FAA funding. Currently, 76 of Arkansas’s 90 system airports are part of the NPIAS.
